How is the European accountancy profession organised? 2020 update

How are the 1 million European professional accountants organised? We surveyed 51 professional bodies (our Members) to find out.

Our interactive map  shows you how the different countries deal with structuring the profession. For example on what professions and titles exist, their main activities, education and supervision. A comparative overview of all countries is also available (members only).

For more of a narrative,  How access to the European accountancy profession is regulated? describes how similar (for auditors) and different (for accountants and advisors) this is.

You can find the 2020 and 2012 overviews per country in this table.
