Members only: New EU AML rules – What changes for accountants?

New EU AML rules – What changes for accountants? will be held online on 24 May from 14:00-15:00 CET.

This is an invitation-only webinar for Accountancy Europe member bodies and their members.

In 2021 the European Commission put forward an ambitious package of anti-money laundering (AML) reforms that will overhaul the current EU AML regime. The Council and the European Parliament have now taken their respective positions on the Commission’s proposals and the negotiations are expected to start in May.

Accountants and auditors play an important role in keeping European citizens safe from money laundering and terrorist financing. The new AML rules will bring significant changes for the accountancy profession.

With this webinar, we hope to help Accountancy Europe member bodies and accountants better understand the expected changes. We will address how the new legal requirements will affect accountants’ day-to-day work and why it’s important to start preparing now.

The discussion will take the form of a virtual fireside chat with Angela Foyle, Accountancy Europe AML Working Party Chair, and Aleksandra Vasilic, Director AML Office (EY).
