Operationalising the definitive regime - changes to CBAM proposed by the European Commission
The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) entered its definitive regime on 1 January 2026. Authorised CBAM importers must now purchase certificates to cover embedded emissions in goods and electricity imported into the EU.
