Edouard Salustro (1930-2013), former FEE President, passes away

It was with great sadness that FEE received the news of Edouard Salustro’s passing on 8 November 2013.

After becoming a chartered accountant in 1964, Edouard Salustro served the profession as President of the French Institut français des experts comptables (IFEC) between 1972 and 1977, and again in 1978. He then went on to serve as the President of the French Conseil Supérieur de l’Ordre des Experts comptables from 1979 to 1982.

In 1986, at FEE’s first General Assembly, Edouard Salustro was elected for two years as Vice-President and President of the Consultative Committee for European Affairs. He later served as FEE’s first French President from 1990 to 1992.

Between 1995 and 2004, he chaired the Section for Finance of the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council. He was also a member of the Consultative Committee of the French Accounting Standard-Setter, the ANC.

Edouard Salustro will be remembered as an immensely dedicated professional, who participated in the creation and development of FEE, ensuring that the voice of the profession was heard throughout Europe.
