Education: Common Content Project

In response to the globalisation of business activity, the single market and regulatory harmonisation, a number of European accountancy institutes have started work on bringing their professional qualifications closer together. Professional institutes in France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK have launched a project that will work towards a common set of professional qualifications for membership of their bodies.

The ‘Common Content Project’ aims to create a new generation of European accountants who will enjoy improved cross-border career opportunities. The Project seeks to unify, as far as possible, the professional entry-level qualifications of the participating institutes. It will maximise the common elements of the professional qualifications and will focus on the following services provided by professional accountants: assurance and related services; performance measurement and reporting; strategic and business management; financial management; and taxation and legal services.
